Chautauqua Institute

Chautauqua is a very special place. The amphitheater holds thousands where we listen to fabulous speakers in the day and great entertainment at night! This community has people returning for years..... Intellectually stimulating, no cars or TV, staying with college roommate , Jackie and husband Ted at the UU house. Only $350 a week and we eat together using a shared kitchen. Cool weather.

I will come back. We need something like this on the west coast. Google it.

I bet you did not know what the G stood for in our 29 th President's name. He was famous for his "front porch" campaign from his home in Marion, Ohio. We had a picnic is his back yard.

We bought a transatlantic cruise from Rome to Texas from the car in Erie, Pa outside cousin Jim Lynch's music store 2 minutes before the sale ended. $719 for 16 days...Nov 2 - 18! Leslie accepted a short term consultancy in Rome with World Food Programme.

We were hosted well by my mother's cousin and wife in Erie...now beginning a week focusing on the Presidents Club and presidential ethics.

Young's Jersey Dairy & Corn

Needed to get my Yellow Springs ice cream at Young's . I have 2 tee shirts with our namesake dairy near our hometown. ...and that's no bull. Corn is researched and hybridized across the street. Stopped at a farm to get a dozen picked that morning....and they threw in another , so 13 for two bucks! Ohio feels comfortable.

3)      Cancellation Penalties:  See below for details

 

CruCon Cruise Outlet will charge a $ 100.00 USD per person cancellation fee, per reservation number booked.  All cancellation requests must be made in writing before cancellations are made with the cruise line.   Cancellation is considered to be ANY reservation where the ship and/or sailing date is changed or where the reservation is booked under a different promotion, even if the reservation number stays the same; reservations which are terminated by the cruise line or via CruCon or otherwise removed from the possession of CruCon Cruise Outlet; reservations which are considered "no shows" or whose occupants are denied boarding at the pier for any reason. This fee is independent of any/all applicable cruise line imposed cancellation penalties, even if no penalties are assessed by the cruise line.

 

All cruise line penalties are based upon the per person cruise fares set by the cruise line.  Also, "deposit penalties" are based on the cruise line's brochure deposit amount and may be more than the amount you actually paid for deposit at the time you made your reservation.  *Canceling or removing passengers from a reservation at any time may result in normal cancellation fees PLUS a fare increase for any/all remaining passengers.

CANCELLATION PENALTY

You will get a full refund if you notify us in writing 75 days prior to your sailing date (60 days for 3 & 4-night cruises or 90 days for holiday sailings). Consult the chart below to determine the cancellation charges applicable later.
Note: No refunds will be made if you do not show up for your cruise or if you interrupt or cancel your vacation once it has begun.
When calculating the days prior to sailing, the day of sailing should not be considered as one of the days.  The day of sailing is considered the first day of the cruise, therefore, the penalty period will commence one day prior to the day of sailing.

Greenon mini reunion

Young's at Young's mini reunion. 13 of us met to plan the 50th reunion of the Greenon class of 1964. Choosing most likely October with the Enon Applebutter festival in 2014 or in May with the alumni banquet honoring our class. Most of us continued to Enon's winery...Brandeberry..famous for blackberry wine. Six of us continued to Air Force entertainment at Wright State's Nutter Center including cocktails before and after at Linda Collier's. Reconnecting with high school friends is always rewarding....seems like yesterday...... And Happy Birthday, Kirk.

Yellow Springs, Ohio

I returned to Hustead school where I first taught as a college student in 1967....Ohio history, reading and diagraming sentences in 8 grade English. I learned a lot about discipline.
Hiked Glen Helen to original Yellow Springs with Miami U roommate, Lynda. Antioch College is coming back.....wonderful small liberal co op school. Had some fried pickles and bought a new top from the artist. This town is from the late 60's and has not changed.
