After 24 hours of travel we had a couple beers on our balcony then 11 hours straight of sleep until call from hotel desk at noon.

Thanks so much for Mary Lou's son who is tracking Ginger's house.  It is okay except for smoke damage.

The fire came close to their Tall Grass house.   We are monitoring air quality to determine when they should return to Napa from our place in Danville.

Ginger's house and fire

Ginger is at San Simeon with spotty email contact. Insurance company asked for permission to save their house if winds take wrong direction. I am a bit stressed since my iMac has not worked since I returned.

Safeco insurance is sending wildfire defense team to Tall Grass to clear brush, put sprinklers on house with their own water, thermojell on entire house & things, do all clean up. And FREE. DOING TONIGHT OR EARLY TOMORROW.

We took Michael Bird to the science Museum in San Francisco yesterday then to see the play Hamlet last night.

We had our favorite Burmese tea leaf salad at lunch and ordered in Chinese for dinner. It was a good day to get away from the smoke in San Francisco. Ginger's family went to Madonna Inn and then Hearst Castle to get away from lung and eye irritation.

Re: Vertigo

Glad you are home safe! We slept well in Little America and eating last of frozen breakfast sandwiches.

No snow around here. Very very happy to hear that vertigo could be caused by head injury rather than anxiety. I actually had not worried so much on snow knowing the interstate would be first cleared and the 4 wheel drive was working. GPS did take us on a dirt road short cut to approach mountain pass so now Yukon is decorated Colorado orange. We look like "granny off readers."

I think my eye is looking better today.
