Air For ce Museum

This Air Force Base is where Grandpa Dan and Nana worked. We spent this morning looking at the museum of old planes.

Louisville Slugger bat

They used to make bats by hand...20 minutes each. Each famous baseball player has his bats made to order. Buster Posey from SF Giants uses this company in Louisville Kentucky. Papa got to hold a bat used by Babe Ruth.. All the famous bat original models are kept in a vault that we got special permission to enter. Papa got to hold Ernie Banks bat which was just like the signature bat he had as a kid, We can make a bat personalized with your own name for $75.

My senior college roommate

We went to Fort Ancient to see the Indian Mounds. They were made by the Hopewell Indians in 2400 years ago. They were burial mounds built on sacred ground. We hiked along the earthen works. All the Indians were driven out of Ohio in the 1850's.

I bought an Indian coyote mask.... Beautiful fur.

Lynda's grandchildren

We've had a wonderful visit.... Cara's 2 boys last night, Christy's fabulous home, and breakfast at Bob Evans farm sausage with Heather and the girls. We appreciate that they came 1.5 hours to greet us.

We are hoping that Heathers family might come to visit us in California next summer!

Stuck in Cleveland

Flights to GA had issues.., got to Louisville 7 hours late. First flight from SFO to Cleveland, Ohio was 4 hours late since the incoming plane had not arrived. We left at 2:30 AM and missed our connection. The reschuled flight to Louisville took off, shortly there was stinky smoke filling the cabin, we turned around over Lake Erie and returned within less than 10 minutes to fire trucks and guys in hazard suits surrounding our plane on the tarmac. The face in the window is Bill Schultz..past president of UUA. Excitement in Cleveland! .
