California Adventure. Day 2

Atticus did not feel well today after staying up late and beginning a real drippy nose. Poor kid actually asked to come home mid afternoon. Heather Carter came at 4 and joined us for early dinner. Brad stayed home with kids who were asleep by 7. The rest of us went back to Disney. The world of color show was WONDERFUL!

Made sandwiches for Disneyland tomorrow ....corned beef.

St. Patrick's Day

I see you had a good time with Ben's family. We are spending St. pats day in the mountains. The UU church meets in a library here. You are lucky your church in Napa found a building to move to.


Here is a new bridge on way to cabin. Papa and I wore green today for St. Patrick's day... Did you? Next week at this time wee will be close to Disneyland.

Squirrel getting oriental carpet for nest

Hi Atticus and Paxton,

This is the forth time we have seen this when we eat breakfast. A squirrel is tearing of threads of the old carpet outside and runs away with them hanging out of his mouth. I think she is building a nest and will have babies soon. Do you see the Buddha in the plants watching?

Showing visitors your town

We just returned from an evening with a gracious hostess who showed us Kobe, Japan.... Her hometown . Aiko told her we were coming and Mami organized a packet of travel guides, maps, hand warmers, telephone card, and more delivered to us when we arrived at our hotel. She met us later and showed us special shopping sites then we dined together.

We like sharing our city too. It is a good circle.

The first shot is instant soup....a cube containing vegetables and seasoning dissolves with hot water... Too bad we can not take food into the USA. The third shot is a huge variety of rice crunchies...then our dinner.

It is going to be hard but nice to get back to home cooking, Tomorrow we go sake tasting and shopping.

One day in Kobe....notice how fat the beef is! We could not decide what kind of lucky charm to buy....traffic safety, legs, happiness. We fly home tomorrow night.

Our ship in Busan, Korea

Dear Atticus,

This is our ship in Korea. We are on the number 2 deck from the bottom. There are 8 floors. We liked the name on this bus...Young. Pusan's baseball team is also called the Giants and they have the same colors and logo as San Francisco. We bought you a Korean soccer shirt since they are a good team.

Papa bought an Angry Bird soda today before we left. When we waved goodbye from the ship, Korean women danced in their native costumes.

Tomorrow we go to Nagasaki, Japan. Love, Grandma
