Arrival at SFO

Unfortunately we still can not get a visa to Turkey. Also we can not change our flights without a $850 fee each via internet or phone.

Turkey is mad at the USA . A lot of people seem to be angry with each other in the Middle East.

Our plan is pay a cab $123 for 70minute ride from Jerico, Palestine to Tel Aviv airport in the morning at 9:30. ( The rest of the group have a morning flight so are leaving at 3 AM. ).

At the airport, Turkish Air "might" allow a free rebooking but connections are not good.

We are booked to fly Tel Aviv to Istanbul 15:20 - 18:46.

We'll try to get transport visa there but will most likely not get past transfer lounge so will need to spend 19 hours until our 2 PM flight the next afternoon .

We arrive at SFO 4:35 pm Friday afternoon and will call Danville from BART to see if Diane is there. If not we'll try Uber. We will be very tired.

It's been good trip.... the last travel day will be the rough part.

Kinafa

Joanna,

We searched and tried what your father recommended. Thank him for his recommendation. We loved it.

We have spent 5 days exploring Palestine and sympathize with their situation with Israel.

We leave Jerico on Thursday for Home.

Fwd: Warm regards from Israel!

Here is the set of pictures from our guide.
If you want to consider a trip to Israel, you might check them out.

The Palestine perspective is very different and important to hear.

We will be home most likely on Friday evening.  We can not rebook our flight without going to the office in Tel Aviv but might get lucky at the airport.

Jesus birth

In Bethlehem

Saw. Where the 3 wisemen slept. The Shepard's fields where they were told about Jesus' birth. The birthplace of Jesus.

Bethlehem Wall of separatism

Similar to the Berlin Wall, this 8 meter high wall separates the West Bank from Israel. Only 5 % is concrete but it goes down the green line of 1949 armistice between Israel and Jordsn.

Tourists come to see the graffiti art on the West Bank side of the Wall.
