We took a 20 minute ferry from Dakar to Island of Goree. No cars or trucks so silent pastel walkways.

Dad was pickpocketed

A team grabbed his pant leg on left while another reached in his front right pocket. Got his leather coin-purse with $19.60 Senegal money and First Republic debit card and Chase credit card we all share. We realized when they disappeared.

I emailed both companies to notify. We have enough cash for trip if necessary.

We walked 11,500 steps = 5.1 miles this morning. Theft happened in first 30 minutes and then nobody hassled us cause I would say our money was already stolen. Africa is different than Europe.

Trump

Somebody in check in line to Africa asked if we voted for Trump. I think I need a Hillary sticker or Canadian flag 🇨🇦. His comments about Africans are still raw.

Taxi from new airport to hotel should meet us at gate. Costs 40 Euros but is better than bargaining hassle.
