Batik painting

Batik painting with hot wax.  The traditional African batiks in the back are made from cotton woven cloth made in The Gambia then sent to Mali where they are batik died with special traditional colors from roots of trees that grow in that area.  I like them and beginning price only $75, but I have no room to hang them.

Touba ,Senegal

One of the 4 brotherhoods that control Senegal is Mouridiya founded by Bamba late 1800's. He is buried in this giant mosque and thousands make a yearly pilgrimage to this place.
This Muslim emphasizes the importance of physical labor as a path to spiritual salvation. This sect controls the ground nut ( peanut ) industry which is Senegal's biggest export. Field plantations cover 60% of land and employ a million willing workers.
