Dome of the Rock

This Dome of the rock is one of the most photographed buildings on earth. The dome covers a slab of stone sacred with both the Muslim and Jewish faiths. According to Jewish tradition it was here that Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son. Islamic tradition has the prophet Mohammed ascending to heaven from this spot.

In the old walled city of Jerusalem, I put a paper with a wish in a crack in the "Wailing" western wall.

Our Israel trip

Bomb attack kills 9 in Syria Golan Heights village: state media

We are just now in Jerusalem for 5 days.

We ate lunch with a Druze family in Majdal Shams and could hear gun shots in Syria 2 miles away. This attack was not far away. Weird to be so close to a war and feel very safe.
