Ghana Fisherman
Instead of walking up the hill with the most of the group, I sat down next to a fisherman who spoke really good English and we had a long talk.
He goes out at night with the light to attract the fish. He's angry that the Koreans and the Chinese come into the waters with Huge boats and take most of the fish. He has seven children and they all went to college and nobody wants to be a fisherman. They take Tuesdays off to repair the nets. Fresh fish that does not sell is sold to northern Africans who salt it to preserve for 3 months. Or they smoke it over wood fires
It's dangerous when the waters are strong & winds are blowing so that they often lose one or two men. He is 60 . I think we connected.

Cape coast castle
Built with slave labor by the Swedes starting in 1652 and changed hands many times . It was the headquarters of Britain's operations until 1876 and the point of no return for many slaves being shipped out of Northern Africa like Mali and Nigeria.
